Welcoming twins is a truly special experience — and I know it can also feel a little overwhelming, especially in those early weeks. Parents often ask me how a newborn twins photo session works, and whether it’s possible to keep everything calm, safe, and relaxed.
The short answer is yes — twin newborn sessions are carefully planned, completely baby-led, and designed to feel unhurried and supported.
Extra Time, Extra Care
A newborn twins photo session is always given additional time. This allows us to move at your babies’ pace, with plenty of breaks for feeding, settling, and cuddles.
There’s no rushing and no pressure to achieve a long list of poses. The session flows gently, giving space for each baby’s needs while keeping the atmosphere calm and peaceful.

A Baby-Led Approach
Every baby is different — and that’s especially true with twins. Some settle quickly, others need a little more time, and that’s perfectly normal.
I follow a baby-led approach throughout the session, adjusting as needed and prioritising comfort and safety at all times. Whether your babies are awake, sleepy, or a mix of both, beautiful images can still be created.
How Twins Are Photographed
Twin sessions usually include a mixture of:
Individual portraits of each baby
Images of the twins together
Family and parent shots if you wish
Some twins love being close and settle beautifully together, while others prefer to be photographed separately. I always work with what feels right for your babies on the day.

A Calm and Supportive Studio Environment
My studio is a warm, quiet space designed specifically for newborn photography. Everything is prepared in advance so the session can flow smoothly, with minimal stimulation and plenty of time to pause when needed.
Parents are encouraged to relax, sit comfortably, and enjoy watching the session unfold. Many tell me it feels like a gentle moment of calm during what can be a very busy and emotional time.
What Parents Need to Bring
Very little. I have everything we need in the studio — from wraps and blankets to carefully chosen props in soft, neutral tones that suit my timeless style.
You’re welcome to bring sentimental items if you wish, but there’s no obligation. Keeping things simple helps maintain a peaceful atmosphere for your babies.

Gentle Reassurance
Your babies don’t need to sleep at the same time. They don’t need to settle quickly. They don’t need to do anything a certain way.
They simply need to be themselves.
Twin newborn sessions are about capturing connection, closeness, and the very beginning of your journey as a family of four — and I’ll guide you through the entire experience with care and patience.
If you have questions or would like to talk through what a twin session might look like for your family, I’m always happy to help.
